About Ubuntu Art Space

Our Fond du Lac art gallery and gift shop features a changing selection of art including cards and souvenirs from local Wisconsin artists. The store carries unique affordable art that is ideal for gift-giving as well as for decorating your home or office.

Ubuntu Art Space participates in numerous downtown and local community events including Fond du Lac Gallery Night, and Sturgeon Spectacular. We are one block north of Thelma Sadoff Center of the Arts on the corner of Division & Marr.

We represent many local artists and have extended our gallery to include an online shop for curbside pickup.

Ubuntu ( oo BOON too) is the concept that " I am what I am because of who we all are." What we do affects each other and that interconnection makes us become who we are. Each artist has their own unique style and together we make up Ubuntu Art Space.

Upcoming Events

Creating Futures Together

5 pm – 8:30 pm
Free
52 E Division St

We understand that higher education is important not only for an individual but also for the community as a whole.

For over 50 years, the Fond du Lac Artists' Association (FdlAA) has been encouraging the creative growth of area artists and youth and promoting community awareness of the visual arts. They provide two Harold Berkholtz scholarships to High School Seniors pursuing a degree in an art related field each year with funds raised by their annual Art on the Island art show which had to be cancelled in 2020.

Ubuntu Art Space - FDL and Gallery & Frame Shop are happy to help out with raising funds for the organization by holding exhibits featuring FdlAA members' art. Both galleries will be donating 15% of all the those art sales towards the Fond du Lac Artists' Association high school scholarships.

During Gallery Night FDL - January both galleries will be open from 5 - 8:30 for the opening reception of this special exhibit. The show runs until Feb. 28. Please check venue Facebook pages for current venue hours.

Rear View Memories

11 am – 8:30 pm
Free

My body of artwork is made up of a wide array of materials I have been salvaging and collecting since I was a child. My styles and mediums have varied over the years, but most of my artwork could fall under the categories of collage and/or mixed media.

I have always been concerned with our environment and the impact we make on it, so it made sense for me to reuse already pre-existing materials that I had available to me. By “up-cycling” old papers, letters, movie tickets, magazines, t-shirts, old clothing and patches I found that I could create something new and interesting while still attaching little fragments and memories from my past.

Some of my work has meaning and memories attached while other works can often just be silly and sometimes cheeky".

Ubuntu Art Space - FDL is excited to feature Stephanie's work on display at the gallery. The opening reception will be during Gallery Night - FDL March 19th, from 5 - 8:30 pm.
