The Classical Concert will be held in the Great Hall featuring violinist and Fond du Lac native, Paul Hauer with Accompanist, Steven Ayers.
Following the concert, the winner will be announced for the special Membership Month prize!

Violinist Paul Hauer joined the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in the fall of 2016. Solo concerts have brought Mr. Hauer to the countries of Germany, Greece, France, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines. Chamber music and orchestral concerts have brought him to Italy, Singapore, Mexico, and China. Before moving to Milwaukee, Mr. Hauer was Principal Second Violin of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and played regularly with the Indianapolis Symphony and Louisville Orchestra.
Mr. Hauer traveled to Athens in May of 2015 to participate in the 4th Leonidas Kavakos International Masterclass. One month earlier, he performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra. Other honors include winning the Indianapolis Matinée Musicale Collegiate Competition in 2013, which resulted in a performance at the Indiana Landmarks Center. In the summer of 2011, he toured Europe with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra as the soloist for the Barber Violin Concerto. As a teacher, Mr. Hauer is Artist in Residence at the Barcel Suzuki String Academy in Wauwatosa, and coaches chamber music at Homestead High School in Mequon.
Early violin training came from Gloria Schroeder in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and later with Ferenc Fenyő and Stéphane Tran Ngoc. Mr. Hauer completed his Bachelor of
Music at Oberlin Conservatory, graduating from the studio of David Bowlin. He began working with Addison Teng in 2009 and studied with him for three summers at the Montecito International Music Festival. He received his Master of Music degree from the Jacobs School of Music with Alexander Kerr. Mr. Hauer is a Wisconsin native and enjoys performing at the Peninsula Music Festival in Door County during the summer.
Steven Ayers graduated with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano from Indiana University, where he also earned a Performer’s
Certificate. While teaching piano at the Lawrence Academy of Music, he earned a degree in accounting at UW-Oshkosh and became a CPA. After seventeen years of public accounting, he is devoting more time to music. In 2009, he became the rehearsal pianist for the Milwaukee Ballet. He teaches several private students and is an active accompanist, notably for the String Academy of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Symphony and MYSO concerto competitions, and several UW-Milwaukee student recitals. He performs solo recitals regularly, and has completed the entire cycle of Beethoven piano sonatas in recital, between 2009 and 2014.
