About Ubuntu Art Space

Our Fond du Lac art gallery and gift shop features a changing selection of art including cards and souvenirs from local Wisconsin artists. The store carries unique affordable art that is ideal for gift-giving as well as for decorating your home or office.

Ubuntu Art Space participates in numerous downtown and local community events including Fond du Lac Gallery Night, Sturgeon Spectacular, and Art All Around Festival. We are two short blocks from the corner of Main & Division just east of the new Hotel Retlaw.

We represent many local artists and have extended our gallery to include an online shop.

Ubuntu ( oo BOON too) is the concept that " I am what I am because of who we all are." What we do affects each other and that interconnection makes us become who we are. Each artist has their own unique style and together we make up Ubuntu Art Space.

Multiple local artists have been busy creating affordable art gifts for everyone on your Holiday list. Our "Holiday Shop" opens Friday December 6th during Gallery Night FDL - December from 5 - 9 for the opening reception.

We carry an extensive selection of themed art including birds, flowers, animals, the FDL lighthouse, cats, and much more.

And yes -- some hippopotamuses as well!

Mel Kolstad is an artist, speaker, instructor and arts advocate who makes her home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She is a printmaker, collagist, fiber artist, and papermaker, specializing in tiny art. She is also delighted to be a Certified Papermaker for Arnold Grummer, Inc.; the membership chair of Wisconsin Visual Artists – Northeast Chapter; a member of ArtSpace Collective in Oshkosh; and curator for the Langdon Divers Gallery, located inside the Fond du Lac
Public Library.

We are excited to have an exhibit by Mel with her tiny art in 2020. Join us for the opening reception from 5 - 9 on January 24th, 2020 during Gallery Night - FDL .
