Nominations Open for Downtown Legacy & Best New Business Awards

Fond du Lac, WI - The Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership, Inc. (DFP) is seeking nominations for two new awards to be presented during the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Annual Meeting on January 21. The public is invited to submit nominations for the Downtown Legacy Award and the Best New Business Award. Nominations are due by January 8, 2016 and may be submitted at www.downtownfdl.com.
Businesses that have been located in downtown Fond du Lac for more than 50 years are eligible to be nominated for the Downtown Legacy Award. There are currently 21 downtown businesses who fit the award criteria. 26 new businesses opened in downtown Fond du Lac in 2015 and are eligible to receive the New Business Award. A full list of all eligible businesses is available as part of the online nomination forms for each award.
Judging will be done by the DFP Organization Committee. The judges will consider:
• Contribution to community and industry
• Business performance
• Innovative practices
• Challenges overcome
Judges will determine winners based on the content and quality of the completed nominations. Anyone may nominate a business. Self-nominations are encouraged. All nominations will be considered when judging, so businesses may be nominated by more than one person. All nominations must be received by January 8, 2016. Information in the nomination form will be used for presentations and news releases related to the awards. Any confidential financial information will not be used.
Numerous other awards will be given to downtown businesses and volunteers during the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Annual Meeting. The meeting is open to the public and will take place on January 21 at 8 a.m. at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts. RSVPs for the annual meeting are appreciated and may be sent to info@downtownfdl.com by January 19.

The DFP is the administrative arm of the Business Improvement District, which is comprised of 284 businesses, 76% of which are locally owned.
